McDermott confirms Allen will not play against the Bears, Trubisky will start against former team

Written by Jeremy Turner-Montgomery

Bills Head Coach Sean Mcdermott has confirmed that quarterback Josh Allen will not play Saturday against the Bears. Backup quarterback Mitch Trubisky will start against the team that made him the #2 overall pick in the 2017 NFL draft.

This will be the second straight week that Allen will not see the field as teams around the league continue to sit key starters during the preseason. It will be interesting to see whether or not McDermott and company will use the third and final preseason game at home against the Packers next week as a dress rehearsal. Coach Sean McDermott also went on to say that the majority of the Bills core players also would not suit up for the game.
